I've been trying literally for *hours* to get a brush similar to the one you used in Step 1. Photoshop's own chalk brushes look absolutely nothing like it, and I must have downloaded about eight different brushpacks looking for something similar, as well as spending all night manually fiddling with brush settings... It's such a simple-looking brush, I can't believe how difficult it is to replicate.
